Meaning
The mark left by a foot on the ground, or the flat underside of the foot itself. Figuratively, a trace or path someone leaves for others to follow.
Good to know
Plural nyayo, which is more common: kufuata nyayo za mtu, to follow in someone's footsteps. Nyayo was also the slogan of Kenya's President Moi.
