Meaning

The round potato with a thin brown or red skin, as opposed to the sweet potato. It is grown in the cool highlands and eaten boiled, fried as chips or in stews.

Plural of kiazi mviringo (ki/vi class). Viazi alone often means sweet potatoes, so mviringo, round, marks the Irish potato; in Kenya they are also called viazi vya kizungu.
