Meaning
The staple food of East Africa, made by cooking maize, cassava or millet flour in boiling water until firm, and eaten with stew or vegetables.
Good to know
It has no plural (u class): ugali wa mahindi, ugali wa muhogo. To cook it is kusonga ugali, and it is eaten with the hand, with fish, meat or greens.
