A state of bad feeling between people or groups who see each other as enemies. It is the opposite of urafiki, friendship.

U class noun with no plural, from adui, enemy. It takes kati ya for the two sides: uadui kati ya familia mbili, enmity between two families. adawa is an older word for it.
