A mass of similar cells forming part of a plant or animal body, such as muscle, skin or brain tissue. In everyday speech it also means soft paper for wiping, a paper tissue.

N class noun, the plural is also tishu: tishu za mwili, body tissues. For paper, karatasi ya tishu or simply tishu.
