Describes someone or something that depends on others, or, in sport and work, someone others depend on.

Good to know

Usually unchanged after its noun: nchi tegemezi, a dependent country; mchezaji tegemezi, a key player. Mtegemezi is a dependant. From kutegemea, to depend on.
