Meaning
Things thrown away because they are no longer wanted, such as household rubbish and dirt; also waste from factories or sewers.
Good to know
N class noun, the same in singular and plural: taka ngumu is solid waste and maji taka sewage. Takataka means the same. Do not confuse it with the verb kutaka, to want (nataka, I want).
