A graceful wild animal of the plains, like the impala or the Thomson's gazelle; also the Muslim ritual prayer, another spelling of sala.

Good to know

For the animal it is N class, taking wa or za for many: swala wengi. For prayer, swala ya Ijumaa. In the news it is also a common but nonstandard spelling of suala, matter, issue.
