Meaning

The word that links a subject to what it is, like English is or are, for every person and number.

Good to know

It does not change: mimi ni mwalimu, sisi ni walimu. Its negative is si: yeye si daktari. For where something is, Swahili uses -ko, -po or -mo instead (yuko nyumbani).
