Meaning

A small round green or yellow citrus fruit with very sour juice, used to flavor food, drinks and salads. In everyday speech it is also used for lemons.

Good to know

N class, same form in the plural: ndimu moja, ndimu tatu. The lemon proper is limau, and the tree is mndimu. Lime juice is maji ya ndimu.
