A plant with a thick starchy root that is boiled, roasted or dried and ground into flour; one of the main food crops of East Africa.

Plural mihogo (m and mi class). Also spelled mhogo. Ugali wa muhogo is stiff porridge made from cassava flour, and its leaves (kisamvu) are eaten as a vegetable.
