Meaning

The number one hundred thousand, used mostly for sums of money and large counts, as in laki tano, five hundred thousand.

Good to know

It comes before the number of hundred thousands: laki moja (100,000), laki mbili na nusu (250,000). Common in prices in Tanzania and Kenya; ten laki make one milioni.
