Meaning
To be more than a certain amount or to go beyond another in size or strength; before another verb it means to do it more and more.
Good to know
Before an infinitive it means increasingly: mvua inazidi kunyesha, the rain keeps getting heavier. Zaidi, more, comes from the same root.
