To catch fish from the sea, a lake or a river; also to take off clothes, shoes or a hat, and figuratively to strip someone of a post.
Good to know
Kuvua samaki is to fish and mvuvi a fisherman. With clothes: kuvua viatu, to take off shoes; the opposite is kuvaa. Kuvuliwa madaraka is to be stripped of power.
