To pray to God on behalf of someone or something, asking for help, healing or peace; also to ask a favor for another person.

Applicative of kuomba, to ask or pray. What is prayed for follows directly (kuombea amani, to pray for peace), and an object marker shows the person: kumwombea mgonjwa, to pray for the sick person.
