To cause someone to weep, through sad news, pain or, in sports writing, by beating them.
Good to know
The causative of kulia, to cry. The person is the object: kumliza mtoto, to make a child cry. In sport, kuwaliza wapinzani is to beat the rivals. Do not confuse it with kuuliza, to ask.
