Meaning

To stop something before it is finished, such as a meeting, a journey or studies, and also to cross through a place by a short way, like a road through fields.

Good to know

Takes what is cut short as object: kukatiza safari, to cut a journey short; kukatiza masomo, to drop out of school. With katika or kwenye it means to cross through: kukatiza katikati ya mji.
