To change from liquid to a thicker or solid state, as blood clots, fat or cement sets, or water freezes; figuratively to stand still or get stuck.
Good to know
Used without an object: damu imeganda, the blood has clotted; maji yameganda, the water has frozen. To make something set is kugandisha, and a clot is donge.
