Meaning

The distance from the top or surface of something down to its bottom, as of water or a hole; kwa kina means in depth, thoroughly.

Good to know

Plural vina (ki and vi class): kina kirefu, great depth. Kwa kina, in depth, is common in the news (kujadili kwa kina). Do not confuse it with kina, it has, for ki nouns (kitabu kina picha), or with kina before a group of people (kina mama).
