Meaning

Along the edge of something and close beside it, as in farming along a railway line or cooking along a road. Without ya it means alongside, on either side.

Usually kandokando ya: kandokando ya barabara, along the road; also kandokando mwa. It is the doubled form of kando, side, aside.
