A judge of the High Court or the Court of Appeal, and also a judge in a contest; a magistrate of a lower court is hakimu.
Good to know
Plural majaji. Jaji Mkuu is the Chief Justice, and it is used as a title before a name (Jaji Mwarija). In competitions, majaji are the judges of the contest.
