Meaning

A point or reason put forward in a discussion, a court case or a debate; in parliament, a motion put to the members for a decision.

Good to know

Plural hoja (hoja hizi). Kutoa hoja is to make a point, kujibu hoja is to answer the arguments, and hoja binafsi is a private member’s motion. Huja is an older form.
