Meaning
A platform built along the water in a port where ships and boats tie up to load and unload; in towns, also a public water point with taps.
Good to know
The singular often takes li agreement (gati la Ntama); plurals gati and magati are both used. Bandari ina gati saba, the port has seven berths.
