Meaning
The stem that means belonging to us, the speaker and others. It takes the prefix of the noun that is owned and comes after that noun, as in nchi yetu, our country.

Common agreed forms: mwalimu wetu (our teacher), nchi yetu (our country), taifa letu (our nation), chama chetu (our party), vyakula vyetu (our foods), shule zetu (our schools), kwetu (our home), mahali petu (our place), kijijini mwetu (in our village). Kwetu alone often means our home or where we come from.
