Marks what follows as something others claim and the speaker doubts or mocks, like English supposedly; at the start of a question it asks for the truth, like tell me.
Good to know
Placed before the doubted statement: wanasema eti amesafiri, they say he has supposedly traveled. In a question: eti, ni kweli? tell me, is it true?.

- Anasema eti hakuiona barua yangu.He says he supposedly did not see my letter.
- Eti, ni kweli umehamia Arusha?Tell me, is it true you have moved to Arusha?
