Meaning
The stem that means having or possessing something. It takes the prefix of the noun it describes and is followed by what that noun has, as in nyumba yenye bustani, a house with a garden.

Common agreed forms: mtu mwenye pesa (a person with money), watu wenye ujuzi (people with skills), nyumba yenye vyumba vitatu (a house with three rooms), jiwe lenye thamani (a valuable stone), kitabu chenye picha (a book with pictures), vyakula vyenye sukari (sugary foods), nguo zenye rangi (colored clothes), mahali penye maji (a place with water). Kwenye is also used alone to mean at, on or in, and mwenye alone means owner, as in mwenye nyumba, the landlord.
