Describes something meant to last only for a while, until something permanent takes its place.

Good to know

The a takes the prefix of the noun before it: serikali ya muda (interim government), ajira za muda (temporary jobs), kibali cha muda (temporary permit). Muda means time; the opposite is a kudumu.
