Meaning

Points back to a person or thing of the umu class already mentioned or near the listener: uwo mugabo, that man. Before a verb it means the one who or whom: uwo mwashakanye, the one you married.

Good to know

Sister forms: uyu, this, and uriya, that over there. For several people the form is abo. Uwo ari we wese means anyone at all.
