Meaning

A pronoun that stands for a person or an umu class noun and ties it to an owner or a rank: uwa Kalisa, Kalisa's; uwa kabiri, the second one. With days, ku wa gives ku wa Mbere, on Monday.

Good to know

It agrees with the noun it replaces: uwa for umuntu or umwaka, iya for inka, icya for igitabo. With order numbers: uwa mbere, the first; uwa gatatu, the third.
