Meaning
In Rwandan custom, the trusted person who introduces two families before a marriage and carries messages between them during the betrothal.

Plural abaranga. The proverb umukobwa wabuze umuranga yaheze iwabo says that a girl with no go-between stays unmarried: nothing gets done without someone to speak for you.
