Meaning

In football, to be ahead of the last defender when the ball is played to you, so that play is stopped or a goal is disallowed.

Mostly used as a noun: habayeho kurarira, there was an offside; igitego cyanzwe kubera kurarira, the goal was disallowed for offside. Of a player: yaraririye, he was offside.
