Meaning
Points back to something of the n or imi class already mentioned or near the listener: iyo nzu, that house. At the start of a clause it means when or if: iyo imvura iguye, when it rains.
Good to know
Sister forms: iyi, this, and iriya, that over there. As when or if it is followed by a present verb: iyo ngeze mu rugo ndaruhuka, when I get home I rest.
